I read the book very, very quickly. I just want to know if Mrs. Jeepers was a vampire.
She wore a starched white blouse with a high collar. At the collar was a green brooch the size of a chicken egg. It seemed to glow whenever she moved. Her skirt was black and hung to the tops of her black, laced, pointy-toed boots.
It's her first day dress. Don't you think she was kind of like a vampire? I am not kiding, I am very serious. I have read the title, I have seen the cover, I know the book is something with vampire. Now the teacher, Mrs. Jeepers showed up like that. Oh, man, I can't help thinking she was a vampire.
I asked mum, how old a kid would be in third grade. The answer is about 8. If Mrs. Jeepers was a vampire, what could the kids do? I am scared.
Eddie was the most naughty boy in the class. He and Melody were pulled in the Clancy estate, a haunted house where Mrs. Jeepers lived now, by Mrs. Jeepers herself. They finally ran away from her safely but they saw two man carry coffin-looking box into the basement.
Hey, guy, you know coffin, don't you? Vampires sleep in coffins at day. Why Mrs. Jeepers need the box? For showing his remarkable courage, Eddie promised that he would find out what was in the box. And Melody would go whit him as an eyewitness.
I don't think I could do that if I were Eddie or Melody. They were really brave.
That night Eddie and Melody sneak into Mrs. Jeepers's basement. They found the coffin-looking box but they can't open it. It seemed as if it was locked from the inside. you know, if nobody was in the box, the box couldn't be locked from the inside!
Eddie and Melody felt frightened. Then suddenly they heard a thump came from the box! Was really someone in the box? No time to find out. Eddie and Melody ran for their life.
It was obvious that something or someone was in the box. Eddie and Melody were so scared. They even forgot to close the door. They rushed across the street, dived behind a bush. Then they saw Mrs. Jeepers showed up at the front door.
Mrs. Jeepers must be something with vampire. But on the bright side, we know she was not the vampire sleeping in the box. She was not in the box, she was in the house. But who was in the box?
The thirth-graders considered about Mrs. Jeepers's husband. Mrs. Jeepers came from Transylvania where Count Dracula lives. Mrs. Jeepers told the kids her husband was dead. So Melody bet Mrs. Jeepers's husband was Count Dracula.
Is it the truth? I can't lay down my book, I must find out the truth with all the kids.
Eddie was impatient. He wanted to showed Mrs. Jeepers who was boss. He began to do lots of stuff. One of them was blowing a biggest bubble. But Mrs. Jeepers's eyes flashed again. And she rubbed her brooch again. And she help up her hand and flicked her finger in Eddie's direction. Instantly the bubble popped! Mrs. Jeepers didn't even need to move, just a flick, she had made Eddie's bubble pop!
Everyone was scared. But Eddie didn't want to give in. In math relays game, he yelled out the wrong answer on purpose. He made a lot of trouble. Mrs. Jeepers rubbed her brooch until it shone bright green. I don't know how she did that but she did made Eddie stayed rooted in the same spot, staring at Mrs. Jeepers' green brooch for the rest of the game.
The third-grade class was nearly crazy. They wanted to revenge, they wanted to protect theirselves. And poor Eddie, he didn't even know what Mrs. Jeepers had done to him. He couldn't belived what his friends told him either.
Howie borrowed a book from the public library. He read about vampires and found out vampires were afraid of cross and garlic. He brought a plastic bottle labeled garlic salt to school. He tiptoed into the classroom and sprinkled the garlic salt all around the room.
That morning, the garlic salt was really something. Mrs. Jeepers kept sniffling. But at noon, Mrs. Jeepers made Mr Dobson sweep the whole room. She had become better. Then when Eddie do his trick in the afternoon, Mrs. Jeepers pulled Eddie from his desk and took him out into the hall.
When Mrs. Jeepers and Eddie came back into the classroom, Eddie looked as white as a ghost. But Eddie didn't tell anybody what had happened in the hall. And every one in third grade gave in now. They all become goody-goody...
The book comes to an end. I hate it.
Who is the vampire? Was Mrs. Jeepers a vampire?
What was the brooch? Why every time Mrs. Jeepers rubbed the brooch, her eyes would flashed and she could do some horrible thing?
What did Mrs. Jeepers talked to Eddie in the hall?
I like to know the answers. But the book ends here. I hate it! Is the answer in the second book? Hey, my dear brave powerful papa, buy me the second book...
